The World is a Twitter

It seems like the whole world has gone Twitter mad, and everywhere you look on the web you see that famous blue "t". People talk about their tweets and who is tweeting about what in office lunch rooms, marketing teams are continually strategising about how best to leverage the application to their competitive advantage and even celebrities are on the self-promotion bandwagon tweeting about everything from their latest movie to the more personal aspects of their lives for all to see.

For the most part, Twitter is a form of Social Media that is used for social interaction, and while some ramble about nothingness many have used the medium to drive their businesses or non-profit campaigns. The success stories are endless. On the other hand though, as with all things in life, the medium can be used in a more sinister light and many high profile figures have incurred legal battles over their rants on Twitter. But for the most part, it is a highly effective and entertaining medium for all who use it.

It is safe to say that Twitter has permeated the fibre of our society and most of us are somewhat familiar with the phenomenon and what it's all about.
